Triple Crown Baseball Roundup – Colonial Cup

April 9, 2025

The East Coast schedule for Triple Crown Baseball sprung to life April 5-6 with the Colonial Cup in Yorktown, VA. Here’s a look at how the brackets shook out:

12u – VA Blasters (Virginia Beach, VA)

VA Blasters had their offense working at full capacity in the Sunday bracket, scoring 40 runs in the three-game trek to the title. In the championship game, the Blasters worked past Delmarva Aces East (Berling, MD), 15-12.

“The boys played clean baseball all weekend. We were thankful to finally get the season rolling with our first tournament with Triple Crown,” said head coach Zachary Will. “We played some very tough teams and came out with two come-from-behind victories in Games 3 and 4.

“Going into the championship game we knew we needed energy and all hands on deck. Miles Williams was huge with three hits, including a double. Wyatt Johnson and Christian Albrecht also stepped up with big RBIs and doubles of their own. Our offense was solid with 13 hits, and Griffin Lane pitched well in relief. I want to give credit to the Delmarva Aces as they fought hard the entire game. They showed great patience at the plate with some big hits throughout the game. It was a tough battle, but we pulled through."

11u – Stars Baseball Brown (Bristow, VA)

It had more to do with pitching and defense for Stars Baseball Brown; the No. 3 seed after pool play came through Sunday with victories of 7-5, 6-1 and 3-0.

10u – VA Seminoles-Fletcher (Richmond, VA)

VA Seminoles allowed just three runs in pool play, won a wild 15-11 decision to start Sunday and capped the title run with an 11-5 victory over Coastal Crushers (Chesapeake, VA).

9u – Southside Crew (Chesapeake, VA)

Southside Crew survived a nail-biter to start Sunday (9-8) then got past Warriors Elite (Suffolk, VA) 11-6 for the title.
