Texas Season Opener roundup

Triple Crown Baseball made its annual trek to the Metroplex and fired up the Texas Season Opener, running from Feb. 28-March 2 and hosting teams in six age groups. Here’s a look at who prevailed in the brackets:

14uD1– Impact Baseball Club Gray (North Richland Hills, TX)

14uD2– Slammers 303 (Lakewood, CO)

13u– Patriots 2030 Navy (Springdale, AR)

12uD2– North Texas Fury Elite-Knapp (Wylie, TX)

11u– Frisco Riders-Dziedzic (Frisco, TX)

10u– Mansfield Tigers (Mansfield, TX)

9u– Texas Blacksox (Aledo, TX)

NOTES– The 11u Frisco Riders-Dziedzic went 0-2 in pool play but got the bats rolling in Sunday’s bracket run as they scored 10, 11 and 14 runs to claim the championship. In the 12u division, North Texas Fury Elite-Knapp also flexed an amazing offense, scoring 20 runs in two pool-play games and then wrapping up the title with Sunday bracket scores of 12-3, 10-1 and 10-0.
